What is the best way to tell if your stick and blade are fitted correctly?

Look at the bottom of your blade. Wear and tear should be taking place on the centre of the bottom of the blade. If there is excessive wear on the heel (most common) a lower lie number is needed to put the blade where it should be... on the ice where the puck is.

If there is excessive wear on the toe a higher lie number is needed. To get the most out of any stick, the centre of the blade must be on the ice to pass, receive, control and deliver a strong shot. If there is too much toe or heel, control of the puck and the strength of the shot are decreased.

Besides individual preference for a longer or shorter stick there are many factors affecting an individuals stick lie. Lie options range from 2 to 7. Taller or older players require higher number lie whereas younger and shorter players require a lower number lie. Or a player that stands more erect requires a different lie from a player who has a lower skating stance.

ENERGY XP CUSTOM PRO compliments the lie of any stick because it is custom designed for each player. Each and every blade is designed uniquely to lie flat against the ice. No more letting a pass slide right through your blade.

Ask one of our pros to customize your blade and stick for you.
